Best Ways To Improve Your English
Learning a new language can be sometimes quite difficult. It literary rewires your brain. As for English, there are strategies that improve ones English. However, the best way to learn English in my opinion is through entertainment. Yes. You can totally learn English through entertainment. How awesome is that! For example watching movies without subtitles deepens your listening skill, not to mention that you should always look for new vocabulary you do not understand and jot it down while still watching the movie by this way you always enrich your vocabulary by simply watching movies. As for speaking, take the monologues from movies you most like and try to act them out as close as you can get from the actor, with this type of practice words will start to come out naturally. Well, that is how you can develop your speaking and listening skills. What about writing? I personally believe in order to improve your writing skill is to simply read more. Reading will give you the concepts and the structure on how the language is written and by that you will start to apply it to your own writing. Buy a book on a subject you are interested in and read. Those methods helped me improve my English and I hope it helps you friends. Peace out!

ReplyDeletewow! good job! I'd probably apply this methods in improving my German language.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Khalid, for your insights. Indeed entertainment (movies and music) can help a great deal with English. Do you think it helps the academic language to the same degree as it helps the social language?
ReplyDeleteNice work Khalid. I agree with some of your points like when you said learning literary rewires your brain and that entertainment is a strategy of improving ones English. Normally, people add subtitles so they don’t have to listen but without subtitles, they’ll have to listen which improve their listening skills. However, I also believe that entertainment is not the best way to learn English because it just encourages some people to watch movies, instead of actually reading.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Khalid. I also used your strategies which are learning from entertainment. I learned from the movie or famous TV shows. I also think it is one of the best ways to improve listening skills. It also helps to learn the culture.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Khalid for sharing your ideas. Since English is my second language and I have the experience of learning a new language, I agree with you watching movies and reading books are the most important ways to learn a new language and to improve it. Also, I want to mention that listening to music also another way to improve your listening and speaking.
ReplyDeleteHello Khalid, I like your post and I like add something to your post which is that, if we need to improve our English language especially for who are English are the second language they should to practices via speak with who are English language the original, because by that the language will be improve very fast than other methods, but still you have very nice method. Thank you very much for your idea.
ReplyDeleteHello Khalid, your post was very good. As a native speaker of english I can say that when someone from a foreign language speaks it sounds a lot different that us. Mainly because when we speak we often don't follow correct grammar rules. I'm sure that is how it is for you guys as well in your home countries.
